Over 60% young Indians to give New Year’s bash a miss and party at home

Acknowledging the impact of the COVID-19 Velocity MR conducted a study to understand and gauge the sentiments of the Indian towards the virus outbreak.

One of the most awaited days of the year, New Year’s is not all about partying out this year, according to the recent report by Velocity MR on the New Year’s Day. The study was conducted among respondents from major metro cities such as Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad. According to Velocity MR, six out of 10 people prefer partying at home or at a friend’s place during the New Year’s. It also reveals that surprisingly, a high percentage of Indian plan to travel within India or go for a long drive, rather than planning a long vacation out of the country. New Year’s seem to generate one of the highest traffic for the online stores, with 73% of respondents claiming to shop online during this period.
